Happy New Year Brothers and Sisters!
May this New Year bring you everlasting happiness and peace, success in whatever you do and prosperity to you and your family! Above all, may Christ be at the center of your life.
We are exceptionally happy for what the Lord has done through us as a pastoral district for 2012. We were able to improve on all our church buildings, and achieve our baptismal goal of 100 precious souls!
Amidst the many successes, Christ has much more for us to do. However, many of us are inactive and refuse to give of our best to the Master. As I write, I am reminded of the parable in St. Luke 13:6-9: “A man had an apple tree planted in his front yard. He came to it expecting to find apples, but there weren’t any. He said to his gardener, ‘What’s going on here? For three years now I’ve come to this tree expecting apples and not one apple have I found. Chop it down! Why waste good ground with it any longer?’ “The gardener said, ‘Let’s give it another year. I’ll dig around it and fertilize, and maybe it will produce next year; if it doesn’t, then chop it down.’”
Like that vine we have been spared another year for a special purpose. What will you do with this time? Let us heed the admonition of the Psalmist by “Numbering our days,” and “applying our hearts unto wisdom.”
God bless you!
